Canal Road in D.C. Reopens After Repairs

July 15, 2019

The emergency repairs on Canal Road are finished, enabling the road to reopen Monday.

The road was closed since July 10 to complete the repairs resulting from last week’s heavy rain and flash flooding, D.C. Department of Transportation officials said.

It was shut down between Reservoir Road and Foxhall Street Northwest. Photos shared on social media showed a large sinkhole.
