The Drive afternoons host Albie Dee

Longtime D.C. radio legend Albie Dee has returned to the area as afternoon drive host for 94.7 The Drive!

Born in the Bronx and raised in North Haven, Connecticut, Albie Dee was bit by the DJ bug at the height of the roller skating craze, and he's never looked back.

He started out in radio at a rock station in Hartford, Connecticut, and the very first song he played on the air was "Spirit of Radio" by Rush.

After four years in Hartford, Albie Dee was brought on to launch WPGC 95.5, The Drive's sister station here in D.C.! He stayed with WPGC for 11 years before transferring to Baltimore, but he missed the area so much he returned to launch WIHT, Hot 99.5, where he worked for eight years.

The on-air personality also spent time working in Salisbury and Ocean City, Maryland, and – most recently – Tampa, Florida.

Albie Dee is a single father and enjoys spending time with his two sons and scuba diving. He describes himself as a card-carrying member of the KISS army (see photo) and a "The Walking Dead" freak.

“I am so excited to come back home to the DMV to play on the radio," he tells the station. So tune in to Albie Dee on 94.7 The Drive weekdays from 3 to 7 p.m.!
