Bob Dylan Has Branded His Own Whiskey

April 9, 2019

By Cameron Jenkins

Bob Dylan's latest project includes a collection of American whiskeys.

The famed singer and songwriter collaborated with craft distillers to create an inagural line of three whiskeys under the Heaven's Door brand.

“We wanted to create a collection of American whiskeys that, in their own way, tell a story,” Dylan said of the collaboration.

Heaven's Door currently offers Tennessee Straight Bourbon, Double Barrel Whiskey and Straight Rye Whiskey.

Each bottle features artwork that is personal to Dylan – an illustration of iron gates he crafted in his metalworking studio.

The whiskey can be purchased online and in 17 states across the country including D.C.

Heaven's Door is also expected to open it's own distillery and center for the arts in a 160-year-old church in Nashville, Tennesse.

"Creativity isn't like a freight train going down the tracks. It's something that has to be caressed and treated with a great deal of respect." – Bob Dylan, USA Today (1995)

We’re thrilled to celebrate the 50th anniversary since our co-creator, @bobdylan, released his acclaimed album “Nashville Skyline,” with the announcement of our own addition to Music City’s skyline: the Heaven’s Door Distillery and Center for the Arts. “Nashville is the natural home for the Heaven’s Door distillery and the Elm Street Church is a fitting home for Dylan’s visual artwork. We spent years looking for a property that truly captures the essence of the Heaven’s Door brand, and when we finally found the deconsecrated church in SoBro, we immediately knew that it would be the perfect physical and spiritual center for the brand, and Bob’s art.” -- Marc Bushala, CEO of Heaven’s Door Spirits For more information, visit the link in our bio. #NashvilleSkyline #HeavensDoorWhiskey

“The history of these Gates is, unsurprisingly, private and personal…this adds purposefulness to their conception: they are designed to be placed somewhere important to the owner opening onto the path up to a home or forming the entrance to a garden.” - Andrew Kelly These gates were created by @bobdylan to be placed somewhere meaningful, which is why they are present on each of our bottles.
