A Northern Virginia county is celebrating 99 years of women voting with 19 planned events over the next year.

Tuesday marks 99 years since women started voting in Arlington, so from August 2019 to December 2020, Arlington County is celebrating the 19th amendment.

The county hosted crafts, trivia night and panel discussions and has one or two events planned monthly for the next year.

A post-election ERA panel is scheduled for Dec. 11.

“Follow us over the next year as we commemorate the brave women who fought for and earned their right to vote in the United States,” the event description says.
