A 62-year-old man was injured Friday when he rear-ended a school bus in Loudoun County, police said.

About 5 p.m., the bus was stopped in the right-hand lane of Route 7 at Calumet Lane near Bluemont with its stop sign and lights flashing.

The man’s 2007 Subaru Forester hit the back of the bus, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s office said. He was removed from the car and airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

There was one student on the Loudoun County Public Schools bus at the time of the crash. Neither the driver nor the student were injured, police said.

Police urge anyone who witnessed the crash to call 703-737-8307.
