Virginia Is One Of The Worst Paying States, Report Finds

Virginia is one of the worst paying states in the country, according to a new study. 

The state ranked No. 8 on the list of’s bottom 10 states with the worst pay. Virginia’s $40,820 median yearly wage and $1,510 median monthly rent for a one bedroom apartment factored into the ranking. 

The outlet compiled its rankings by determining how many hours at the median hourly wage it took to be able to afford a median one-bedroom apartment in every state. 

Wyoming was recognized as the state with the best pay, and New York topped the list of the worst.
