FedEx Will No Longer Deliver Amazon Packages

August 7, 2019

FedEx will no longer be delivering your Amazon packages.

The delivery service told 94.7 The Drive it doesn’t have plans to renew its contract with the online shopping hub. The contract was slated to end this month. Now, Amazon will be pressed to find a new delivery method.

The Wall Street Journal was first to report the change.

“This change is consistent with our strategy to focus on the broader e-commerce market, which the recent announcements related to our FedEx Ground network have us positioned extraordinarily well to do,” FedEx said in a statement.

Amazon has plans to operate its own home-delivery service and continues to add to its existing fulfillment centers. There are plans to open a large center in Upper Marlboro.

“We are constantly innovating to improve the carrier experience and sometimes that means reevaluating our carrier relationships,” Amazon said in an email to The Drive. “FedEx has been a great partner over the years and we appreciate all their work delivering packages to our customers.”
