The District’s usual July 4 concert celebration will still go on as planned despite President Donald Trump’s plans for a separate Independence Day ceremony.

President Trump’s new event, which he said in a February tweet would be called “A Salute To America,” will feature a fireworks display, entertainment and a presidential address near the Lincoln Memorial.

The National Park Service previously said the fireworks would be launched from West Potomac Park. The July 4 fireworks are usually launched near the Washington Monument.

A tweet confirmed “A Capitol Fourth” will still be executed because “this concert is unaffiliated with any other July 4th celebrations.” The event on the West Lawn will be televised at 8 p.m. on your local PBS affiliate.
