Local elections are coming to Rockville and with them a new way to vote.

Registered voters in the city will become the first in Maryland to vote by mail, according to WTOP.

The new process will not completely replace physical polls across the city, but it will allow voters an alternative option.

Ballots will be sent to registered voters, who may then return them via paid-postage or a drop box that will be available at City Hall.

Voters will have until September 20 to register and have ballots sent by mail.

Election day is November 5.
