Shared Mopeds Coming To D.C. Friday

August 15, 2019

Mopeds are coming to the District starting Friday.

Revel mopeds will be available along D.C. streets as the District’s Department of Transportation kicks off a four-month pilot program.

The pilot program allows participating companies to make 400 mopeds available to the public.

Each moped costs $1 per person to unlock and then $0.25 per minute to ride. They can’t be used on highways or bridges, according to the company’s website.

Riders can unlock the mopeds using Revel’s app. The mopeds have to be used within the company’s designated service area, which can be found here.

Revel’s mopeds can be used between 5 a.m. and 12 a.m.
