Arlington National Cemetery is seeking volunteers to help remove wreaths on Saturday following its annual Wreaths Across America event last month.

Volunteers are needed starting at 8 a.m.

More than 245,000 wreaths were placed Dec. 14.

“This is a special day where the wreaths placed at these hallowed grounds during the holiday season in remembrance and honor of our nation’s fallen service members and their families will be respectfully removed by volunteers,” the cemetery said.

Cemetery officials anticipate the large number of volunteers could cause traffic congestion and delays on nearby roads.

Volunteers are asked to enter at Memorial Avenue, South gate or the Old Post Chapel gate.

Cars won’t be allowed on cemetery property until 3 p.m.
