Six-Figure Salary Necessary For Happiness In The District: Report

An annual salary of $182,595 is required to be happy living in the District, according to a new survey. 

The Purdue University and GOBankingRates report found that a $165,205 is needed for life evaluation in the District, and a salary between $104,340 and $130,425 is needed for emotional well-being. 

The report compiled minimum salaries based on satiation levels and considered the cost of living in each city. 

Globally, the study found a salary between $60,000 and $75,000 is necessary for “emotional well-being” and $95,000 is needed for “life evaluation.” 

Happy living salaries were as high as $219,765 in New York and $319,935 in San Francisco.
