Things To Do in the DMV This Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend is always a time to celebrate fallen and enjoy the fact that you don't have to go into work on Monday.

Here are a few things you can do to honor your heros and celebrate across the DMV.

Tour United States Soldiers’ and Airmen’s Home National Cemetery:

Free tours will be held Monday at United States Soldiers’ and Airmen’s Home National Cemetery. They will take place between 10:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and will last about 45 minutes each. Participants can learn about the history of Memorial Day and the notable people buried at the site. Parking will be available at President Lincoln's Cottage visitor parking lot.

Attend Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Rally:

Head out Monday morning at 9 a.m. to join nearly 900,000 riders as they ride out to celebrate POWs and MIAs who served during the Vietnam War. The route will begin at the Pentagon and travel through West Potomac Park.

Enjoy the National Memorial Day Concert:

Indulge in performances by National Symphony Orchestra Patti LaBelle, Gavin DeGraw, Alison Krauss, Dennis Haysbert and more. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. Sunday evening on the US Capitol West Lawn.

Come out to the Memorial Day Block Party:

On Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m., you can hang out at the National Harbor and enjoy face painting, caricatures, sidewalk chalk art, family friendly games.
